“Allegra Spender has denounced as “false, misleading, and offensive” a pamphlet targeting her that is being distributed anonymously in the #Sydney seat of Wentworth and which the Australian #Electoral #Commission is investigating.

On Monday the #AEC said it had received complaints about “the #distribution of an unauthorised #pamphlet opposing the member for Wentworth which is in breach” of electoral laws which require material to be authorised with the name and address of its source.”

A pretty clumsy move, highlighting motive and at considerable cost. Motive, means, opportunity.

Keep in mind foreign interference briefing by ASIO head earlier in the year.

The "AROS One" distribution, based on the AROS binary interface ABI v0, is now available in version 2.8 for x86 computers.

This version integrates the last three years of AROS development.

Additional work has also been done to stabilise drivers for virtual environments (VirtualBox, VMware and QEMU), so that AROS can be tested in a virtualised environment before deciding to purchase dedicated hardware.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a #debian based #linux #distribution that's something in between #ubuntu LTS and bleeding edge?

Some sort of a compromise between stability and actuality. Maybe without modifying like every package with Canonical patches :blobfoxgoogly:

Availability of Kernel 6.13+ and mesa 25+ (latest amdgpu stuff) without breaking the system with PPA stuff would be nice too ;3

Beim Wechsel auf #Linux sind die bisher genutzten Applikationen und Services nur ein Teil der Reise. Der andere Teil ist die Frage, ob die Hardware auch 100% kompatibel ist. Um das vor der Installation zu testen, kann man von dem ISO Image der gewünschten #Distribution einen bootfähigen USB Stick erstellen und den Rechner damit starten, um alles zu testen, ohne zu installieren. Für die Erstellung des USB Sticks kann Etcher genutzt werden: github.com/balena-io/etcher/re
