1. Broke my PostgreSQL cluster. It turns out write ahead log replication is a bit sensitive to latency so I'm rebuilding the #cluster. Not content with breaking one cluster, I made a second one to test the boundaries of PostgreSQL HA, a new approach and I am loading that db right now. Got learned, on Timescale and Time series databases:

2. Handed over the codebase for two small projects I helped start bootstrap.

3. Had a great #selfcare / #wellbeing touch base. It's hard some days, but was reassured that I'm doing all the right things, more than most. Fitting a couple #singing sessions in every day latest being learning Leave Her Johnny:

Down in the basement tonight working on the new song. Got the main vocal comped and now putting down some backing vocal harmony tracks for the chorus sections. Took me a few bars to figure out it’s the fifth note up from the main vocal melody line that’s good. Fortunately, I was just barely able to hit the highest note with enough strength and conviction to sound decent. Hit my vocal peak limit threshold there. Singing frustration:
I love singing but when singing along with songs I often don't know which octave to sing in. When I choose the lower one, some parts of the song may be too low, and with the higher one, some parts may be too high!

Now I wonder, maybe the pitch of my voice is a bit uncommon? Or do I just have a bit of a limited range?

Does anyone recognize this issue?

Sebastiaan (Bas) Ammerlaan — bariton · Recording Brahms - Ein deutsches Requiem - Sebastiaan (Bas) Ammerlaan — baritonOne of the last concerts I could give before the current new Covid-19 lockdown was the famous Ein deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms, with fellow soloist Elenora Hu, the <a href=https://www.toonkunst-utrecht.nl>Toonkunstkoor Utrecht</a> conducted by Jos Vermunt and the Utrechtsch Studenten Concert as the symphony orchestra. Coincidentally, I played in this orchestra myself, once, and even was part of the board for a year. A big honor!
