They survived ASL 1. The strong ones, the fast ones, the ones who kept up while others drowned. But ASL 2? Whole different beast. No more easy drills. No more spoon feeding. No more hiding behind fingerspelling like a damn life raft. This is where fluency stops being a hobby & starts being a mountain. Not everyone makes it to the top. Some climb. Some stall out. I enjoy calligraphy because it is a type of meditation for me. I am part of a typology community that puts out a weekly glyph challenge where a person is encouraged to be creative with it and it still be recognizable. This week is the Arabic letter ج [d͡ʒim]. This is what I submitted.
