The sector is plagued with scandals, from wage theft and conflicts of interest to excessive spending on marketing, travel, and consultants.

Alongside these scandals, Australia’s Vice-#Chancellors are some of the highest paid in the world.

The corporatisation on our tertiary sector threatens the very existence of our #Universities. These ‘bean counters’ have had their way for decades. It is time for the govt to mandate better educational and professional outcomes. Sack all #Council members, tighten up rules and regs, and start again with better reporting and more rigorous oversight than before.

I guess this is what comes of ignoring the long term effects of #ToxicMasculinity for 30 years (and also being a town with an active #military #barracks) - nearly 20 years ago a young lass told me how the city streets were a warzone at night due to angry men on 'roids and #cocaine

Other than its falling apart and awkward to get in/out of (due to the one way system) I've not got a problem with the old maltings site in #Ipswich being used for a #carpark - but I think its a bit of a pisstake the #Council is essentially expecting motorists to be unpaid security guards by their presence (when it costs the same to park in as all the other Council car parks, and there are better ones just a few metres away!)
