The new #AI equipped #ANPR #camera #vans using tech developed in #Australia will be deployed by #WestMidlands #Police - they can apparently spot #speeding , seatbelt violations, #mobilephone use and even #DUI ! (probably by monitoring those who are driving erratically and not keeping to correct lanes)

Vans cost £47 000 each (cheaper than I had expected, a plain new van (without any Police equipment is £35k) #RoadSafety #Surveillance #UK

It's been a while since I was able to go out and take some photos. It feels like it was always very cloudy and gloomy on all the weeekends since October. Finally during the Christmas break I cought some sunshine!

8 of the top 15 hotspots for uninsured driving are in the West Midlands, according to the Motor Insurance Bureau. This comes just weeks after we learnt that WM is also a hotspot for cycling incidents, and as new mayor Richard Parker downgrades the role of Active Travel and Road Safety Commissioners.

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, this was the first time I was able photograph this wonderful bird.

I remember, back in secondary school I chose the Great Cormorant to write an essay about for homework. Now, here I am again, this time taking photos of this species.

Yesterday's walk at local reservoir was very successful, I came homewith photos including 3 new species I photographed the first time.

This is one of them, a Grey Wagtail.

The other 2 are the Great Cormorant (I'll post later, and the Common Pochard, unfortunately this latter is just barely recognisable as they were quite far.

I've just moved servers, so I thought I'd better do an #introduction post. I never really did one before, as I wasn't really sure what to say, so hopefully I'll cover all the bases with this one!

I'm a late 50's dreadlocked #Vegan #ActuallyAutistic cis white guy in Telford in the #WestMidlands of the #UK. LGBQT ally. Anti-fascist; Anti-racist; Anti-oppression. Husband and father to several neurospicy children and step-children.

I hate exploitation, oppression and authoritarianism of all sorts.

I'm a #ComputerGeek by trade, and #Maker in my spare time - I love #Linux #FreeBSD #RaspberryPi #Arduino #Python #3DPrinting #LaserCutting #Inkscape. I'm active at my local #RepairCafe and a former #Makerspace founder.

I work #PartTime these days, mainly due to having done 30+ years of high-stress roles in #IT and crashing and burning (#AutisticBurnout) about 5 years ago, just before the #Covid pandemic and eventually slowly putting myself back together.

I make stuff on my #LaserCutter and #3Dprinter; I #Upcycle things like old wooden pallets or old furniture. Occasionally #dabble in #Electronics; hack wood and metal and electronic gadgets.

Music-wise, I'm predominantly into grunge, punk, dub, with a bit of psytrance and electronica on the side.

I love #Art especially amateur/small scale artists. Occasionally try to do my own, in Acrylic paint, or lately wood.

Don't watch TV or netflicks, but I *do* watch some YouTube and PeerTube channels but don't "follow" any.

I think that covers most of it. I hope nobody objects to the hashtag soup!
