Olé Bokeh

So once again I was standing in front of one of my favorite motifs. My good old lonetrees. Just as the little protagonist in “The Sixth Sense” saw ghosts everywhere, I see these woody creatures everywhere. Well, you have to have some kind of talent.

Recently I've been thinking in color and so the squeaky yellow rape field was a welcome stage and the cloudy blue sky a welcome curtain. So I dived into the viewfinder and . . .

“Wait! Before you go back to exclusively reeling off your classic lonetree compositions, why don't you play with a bit with Bokeh! Ok. I'll give it a try and . . .“

And what can I say. This and other results bring a smile to my face. Maybe you'll like it too.

Catching the Rays.

T'was colourful but I liked the subtleties in the cloud layer and they're more apparent in black and white.

An ominous, dark cloud fills most of the sky, as the sun sets in the distance across a large body of glassy rippled waters. A starburst surrounds the sun as it peeks under a cloud, rays of light scattered above in a fan-like splay, lighting the underside of the cloud layer above. Foreshore rocks and nearby headlands lay in silhouette, contrasting heavily against the bright sunlight reflected in the sea. Photographed in black and white using in-camera features.
