Saved another 2019 Oneplus 7 that got stuck on Android 12 with a security update of somewhere in 2022.
It is now running Android 14 with the latest security update, thanks to @murena /e/os.
Biggest hurdle was to downgrade to Android 11, as Oneplus has created an issue with Oxygen OS -Android 12, where the OEM unlock has disappeared. Moreover, their downgrade links were obsolete. What a mess.
Installing /e/os was a breeze once unlocked.

Echt boeiend. En ook echt schokkend hoeveel apps niets geven om privacy en teveel rechten op je mobiel hebben. Er is zoveel fout aan #bigtech.

Salut les #mastodon je cherche une solution qui me permettrait de synchroniser mes mails+agenda+taches entre mon android et ma boite linux sur murena.io (nextcloud). Thunderbird android ne gère que les mails alors que mon agenda est sur mon thunderbird mais je n'arrive pas à le synchroniser avec mon compte murena.
Une idée ?

After a slightly bumpy start I have completely ported myself over to #Murena #Fairphone #Fairphone5
The only Google app I have brought with me is Gboard for Irish localization. I had to drop Revolut for Bunq as Revolut app is broken on Murena. I miss Android Auto and Digital Wellbeing apps. All Irish apps I use for banking, utilities, shopping etc are working fine. It feels great to have made the switch!

@rafa_font In my experience they work fine on #Murena, which uses https://microg.org/download.html . To the apps it should look exactly like Google Play Services/Google Maps, but under the hood it gets geolocation data from Mozilla Location Services (which is still a potential privacy risk, albeit reduced; it's still best to keep geolocation disabled most of the time, and with /e/OS at least you can trust it will indeed be disabled).

I installed /e/OS finally on my Fairphone5.
But had some struggle first. It didn't worked and I had to set my phone back with the rollback.
My Question: is it right, that the bootloader remains open?
Because it's not closed, after the install with the easy installer.
